Unique, handmade products
Deseñas is a boutique retail outlet offering items handmade by the students working in the Vocational Training Workshops.
EEESMA is a non-profit association so all purchases at the store are considered donations. Your donation goes to cover:
-purchase additional materials
-pays the students for their work
Our goal is to support the students in their quest to achieve viable employment, and to make the school more sustainable.
It is our intention to set the bar high and offer the public high quality and unique products; items that both the maker and the buyer will be proud of.
The store is operated by volunteers and will be open a couple of days each month to start. If you have a skill in design, retail operation, sales management, or publicity, please consider joining our volunteer team!

All of us at EEESMA are extremely proud of the amazing progress of the jewelry workshop students. Since 2015 they have worked hard and learned well from their instructors creating beautiful silver pieces that anyone would be proud to own or to give as a gift.
Most recently, the students have been making custom pendants and earrings for the San Miguel Writers Conference and Literary Sala which is a good indication of the following they have created because of their professional work. Outstanding!
Outstanding artistic design and sewing talent have come to the forefront in the "taller de costura", where shop members join together to create beautiful one-of-a-kind home design and personal items. They have mastered cross stitch, embroidery and dress making and are putting all these skills into play to create unique, stylish and eye catching embellished denim jackets. Be sure to get yours soon!
The students in the carpentry workshop have continued to enhance their talent and skill in the realm of woodworking over the past several years. Dedicated volunteers began by tutoring them in making simple puzzles on the scroll saw and today they have advanced to building furniture and functional artist and display easels. Combine this with creating wine racks, display bins, as well as outstanding cutting boards, and you have a recipe for success!
Thanks to the creativity and passionate energy of a wonderful volunteer who shares her love of alcohol ink painting with the students, simple ceramic tiles have been transformed into beautifully hand painted sets of coasters and single trivets. There is no limit to the imagination put into play here! Graduating now to putting paint to paper, lovely pieces made to adorn your walls are being matted and readied for sale. Next, fabric will be made from the more graphically styled designs created by the students. And who knows where this latest adventure will lead us!
